On behalf of Newport Rugby Club a huge thank you to the trustees for your generous donation of £2,000 towards our lease purchase fund. Securing the lease on our current home on the Forton Road will mean that rugby is preserved in the heart of Newport for at least the next 100 years. This will benefit the membership, in particular the upwards of 350 children and youths who play rugby at the club on a Sunday morning as well as providing green space to the wider Newport community.
My I convey our thanks for your recent donation of £500 to West Midlands Ambulance Service Newport Responder Scheme. The Newport (and surrounding area) team of Emergency First Responders, have currently been providing emergency lifesaving cover in the Newport area for approaching 20 years, and thanks to your kindness, our work can be continued. All schemes are designed to be financially self-supporting; therefore, any money raised by the local community and donated to the scheme is spent in Newport. It is not placed in a central account but kept here in the town.
